About

The Broadway Mental Health Foundation stands in solidarity with every artist, fighting to change the industry and create a system that is safe, healthy, and empowering for all. Our focus is on the gradual change needed in order to flip the current paradigms of shame, psychological mistreatment, and toxic workplace environments that are rife in our art form today.

To put it simply, Broadway (well, the theatrical industry) has never seen anything like BMHF. We, identifying as a maverick organization, believe in access to free mental health education, resources, and support from clinicians — because taking care of our artists is what will keep our art form alive. BMHF is for every artist, in every capacity, on or off the stage, Union or Non-Union.

Broadway is all of us.

Our industry has been in a mental health crisis since the very conception of musical theatre in the United States — artists have always been products, not people. By supporting our initiatives and joining our community, you are adding your voice to the sea of change-makers that will shift the paradigms of our industry for good.
