LAUNCH OF A CLEAN BLOCKCHAIN

Meridian has completed development of a clean energy blockchain. Meridian is building a renewable energy ecosystem, powering efficient and scalable data infrastructure. Launching with trusted partners in Renewable Energy, the Meridian Blockchain deploys a resilient and secure codebase.

The design balances security, scalability and performance with a network that operates on very low energy. The Meridian Green Network powers a release of tested and capable code in a containerized and scalable environment, that integrates payment channels, databases, smart contracts, and other technologies.

FIRST COHORT

Meridian is launching with a strong portfolio of impact projects in 2019. The Network continues to expand into new green data sites, to accommodate the demand of our growing customer pipeline.

Meridian’s management team brings experience from world-leading organizations, including IBM, Google, France Telecom, Ernst & Young, and UNHCR.

Paul Thomson

CEO

Paul was most recently the Chief Compliance Officer at Numus Capital Corp, a registered Exempt Market Dealer in Canada. He serves as Corporate Secretary of TSXV listed resource company Antler Gold Inc., as a Director of blockchain development company eXeBlock Technology Corp, and previously served as Corporate Secretary of Northwest Arm Capital Inc., a TSXV listed Capital Pool Company. He served as the Manager of Investor Relations at Numus Financial Inc., a venture capital firm focused on early-stage, high-growth companies since the firm’s inception in 2014. He is registered as a CCO and Dealing Representative in multiple jurisdictions across Canada.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kings College and has completed numerous courses in the investment industry including the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course at the Canadian Securities Institute and Exempt Market Proficiency Course at the IFSE Institute. He serves on the Board of Governors of the University of King’s College where he sits on the Executive Committee, Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and Advancement Committee. He is also President of the University of King’s College Alumni Association and President of the 1st Field Artillery Regiment Association and serves on the Regimental Senate.

Matthew Pickup

Technology

Matthew is an experienced founder and builder with information technology and renewable energy. With a strong background in cleantech and social enterprise, Matthew was recently part of a large tidal energy project in Nova Scotia’s Bay of Fundy, worked as VP of Strategy and Partnerships for blockchain venture development studio BlockCrushr Labs, co-founded a crypto mining club for beginners, and founded Fosch Capital where he worked with more than 100 companies – raising tens of millions of dollars in non-dilutive capital via grants, vouchers, debt, and more.

Matthew holds a commerce degree from Dalhousie University, and has maintained the spirit of learning continuously through new technology ventures in emerging fields.

Ethan Gilmore

Strategy

Ethan started his career in 2003 in the alternative investment space and has worked across the hedge fund, private equity, investment banking, renewable energy and media and technology sectors.

Ethan has been deeply involved in the blockchain space since 2015 and has spoken at such institutions as The Harvard Business School Club of New York, The National Security Institute, The Harvard Business School Club of Philadelphia, Digital Hollywood, Viacom, The Young President’s Organization, Princeton University (Frick Laboratory, Envision Conference), The New School, Silicon Beach, Jefferies and many others about distributed ledger technologies and their applications across various verticals.

Ethan is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Paul Mears

Partnerships

Paul is an experienced businessman, serial entrepreneur, and financial professional, and has held several senior operational and finance roles in a range of publicly and privately-owned companies located in London, New York, Amsterdam, Vancouver, Hong Kong, and Monaco. Paul’s previous technology experience includes Modex Tech, Vinci, Amdocs, France Telecom and serving as Advisor to Humaniq, Howdoo and Mogu.

Paul is a UK Chartered Accountant and started his career in the entrepreneurial services division at EY London before progressing into various commercial finance management roles.
