About

Michal Towber is a songwriter, singer, and musician.  Born in the ancient seaport of Ashkelon, Israel, and raised in New York City by two visual artists, Michal is an imaginative and complex talent. Her music is characterized by a respect for the intelligence of her audience.  She is the thinking man’s muse, and her lyrics are evocative and transporting.

An accomplished recording artist, Michal signed to Columbia/SONY at the age of 17, and has released three full-length CDs of original compositions, ranging in style from alternative rock to jazz, Sky with Stars (2000), Coma (2002), and Desireless (2005).  She is an on-staff composer for the daytime drama One Life to Live, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded her an Emmy in 2005 for her work on the show.  She is a classically trained pianist and a self-taught guitarist, and her original compositions have appeared on television and in film. Her latest album, “Life’s blood” was recently mastered in the spring of 2009 and she is now seeking its mass-production.
