About

The McKinney North High School Bulldog Band consists of approximately 170 students who perform in statewide musical competitions individually, as a single coordinated large group, and everything in-between. The Band, Drum Line and Color Guard compete together in the fall as a single large group in UIL and other competitive marching productions, while the Drum Line and Color Guard compete in focused group competitions for each of their specialties. In the Spring semester, the organization competes as six groups including traditional wind bands, jazz bands and Winter Guard for competitive performances. Students also
compete individually in TMEA All-District, -Region, -Area, and -State levels. In 2014, the Bulldog band achieved its eleventh consecutive UIL sweepstakes trophy by earning superior ratings in Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading contests and placed 19 students in the TMEA All-Area Band and 8 in the All-State Band while competing in what is widely regarded as one of the most competitive regions in Texas.
