About

Elizabeth Moffly declared her candidacy for the open 1st Congressional District seat January 17, 2013, to a gathering of her supporters at Geechie Seafood at Shem Creek. (Watch Elizabeth's new web video: A Common Sense Conservative)

Moffly is currently a Trustee on the Charleston County School Board. She combines a history of independent thinking with the courage to speak out on issues.

Elizabeth told her supporters she considers public service a higher calling – β€œto be a voice for the people where decisions are being made that have a direct effect on our lives.”

The Moffly candidacy rests on three principles - Personal Freedom, Economic Security and Limited Government.

The first purpose of representation is to uphold the rights of a free people. With freedom comes personal responsibility. Citizens should not expect the government to provide for them what they can provide for themselves.

Our country is in trouble. Now is the time to elect representatives to Congress who will make the tough choices.

We must have representatives in Washington, who insist on a balanced budget - If your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep is your downfall.

Elizabeth will work to force the federal government back to the basic responsibilities it was given by the Founding Fathers – provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
