About

Murray Edwards College offers exceptional facilities – including two self-contained conference centres – for hosting professional events in a relaxed environment, in addition to a highly experienced Events Team to help create occasions to remember.

Working closely with event organisers – whether it’s your full-time job, a one-off family celebration or you’ve been tasked with this year’s office Christmas party – the Team understands the need to meet an ambitious set of criteria covering budgets, format, food and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day. We will provide all the details you need on the College’s facilities and services, availability, schedules and procedures to guide you through the entire process.

Our pricing structure is competitive and clear, offering good value but with the opportunity to include additional elements should you wish.
The College has informal gardens ideal for outdoor drinks receptions and Summer parties and is home to the largest collection of female art in Europe.  It’s also just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre, with free on-site car parking.

With 20 years’ experience in delivering successful conferences and meetings, Murray Edwards’ consistently high standards are reflected in excellent client feedback, with many returning year on year.

Your Culinary Experience

Food is a pivotal part of an event’s success – and is widely reported to be in the top five key factors for delegates and guests at meetings and conferences.

At Murray Edwards College, quality is top of the agenda, using fresh seasonal ingredients, locally sourced and, in response to feedback, our menus include more vegan and vegetarian options than ever before.
It’s essential that the cuisine reflects the event, whether it’s an informal networking buffet lunch or a formal corporate dinner. Our catering team will work closely with you to ensure that the dishes are interesting, well-presented and not only meet but surpass everyone’s expectations.

Home to the New Hall Art Collection

The New Hall Art Collection is a unique collection of art by women can be found throughout this Cambridge College, bringing alive the 1960’s experimental architecture. The New Hall Art Collection is the second largest collection of artworks by women in the world and includes paintings, sculpture, mixed materials pieces, comic strips and more.

This Collection, accredited by Arts Council England in 2018, is of modern and contemporary art, which was founded in 1986 with the purchase of Mary Kelly’s six-part work Extase, has evolved through gifts and loans from artists and alumnae and today includes over five hundred works by artists of international quality and renown – including Barbara Hepworth, Elizabeth Frink, Paula Rego, Maggi Hambling and Judy Chicago.

A Unique Experience

Around each corner of the College is a new artwork or viewpoint and combined with the College’s commitment to women’s education and the beautiful, informal gardens, makes this a truly inspirational environment for any event, conference, meeting, dinner, garden celebration or summer school, day trip or overnight stay.
