NYZ Press is an independent publishing imprint based in San Diego, California, founded by author and entrepreneur Nat Ajuba. The imprint was established to publish stories that ask uncomfortable questions and resist easy answers, including speculative and literary fiction.

Synth Pulse, the imprint's debut title, is a speculative soft science fiction novel set in near-future San Diego. It explores personhood, autonomy, and the real cost of choice through the story of a Synthetic soldier and a volatile Organic woman navigating an authoritarian surveillance state.
