Sean Kaltenbach is a licensed builder (License #368104) specializing in adobe and compressed earth block construction. Related specialities include custom finishes such as earth and lime plastering; adobe vaults and domes; and mud floors and countertops as well as artistry in adobe that includes striking fireplaces, unique bancos, and exposed adobe walls.

Sean is heavily involved in every aspect of the construction process, from pre-design and site selection through management of all aspects of the building process. His extensive experience also includes finance, architecture, interior design, landscaping, property management, title insurance. Sean has a highly qualified crew as well as agreements with proven subcontractors for specialty tasks.  

Sean is a leader in The Earthbuilder's Guild and is often called upon for advice or instruction in the specialized techniques and skills of earthen construction. He is a second generation builder with a deep dedication to sustainable homes. He has lead or participated significantly in the building of over 60 homes in Santa Fe, Las Campanas, Las Cruces, Lake Valley, Cochiti Lake, and Quemada, New Mexico.
