Nisai Virtual Academy

The Nisai Virtual Academy (NVA) is a vibrant, safe and secure online learning community that enables marginalised, disaffected and disadvantaged young people who may experience difficulties in accessing mainstream school or college, or those requiring additional support within a mainstream setting, to participate in flexible, personalised and cost effective online learning (elearning) programmes, access specialist support and participate socially with others in an online community environment.

Students at the NVA access a broad curriculum of online learning programmes including Basic Skills, Functional Skills, WorkSkills, GCSEs and A Levels which are delivered using state-of-the-art online learning technologies and use contemporary pedagogies specifically developed for delivering high quality online learning programmes to hard to reach learners.

Recognised as a world leader in personalised learning, the NVA provides students with individual learning plans that meet and support their specific learning and personal requirements. This includes access to an online wellbeing centre that offers specialist mental, emotional and behavioural support.

The NVA enalbles students and young people to participate in a range of online activities and collaborative social networking in a completely safe and secure environment, minimising isolation resulting from non attendance at a mainstream school or college.

The results achieved by students at the NVA are consistently outstanding and far exceed the outcomes these students were otherwise ecpected to achieve in terms of academic achievement, which is consistently above the national average, and social and personal development.
