About

Established by Co-Founders, Jane Seymour and James Keach, the Open Hearts Foundation has been supporting emerging and growing non-profits over the past ten years. The Foundation, through its grant making and volunteerism programs, provides grants, expertise, resources and tools, enabling their charity partners to not only raise their profile but also further their mission and objectives.

The Foundations programs are supported by a distinguished Board of Directors including Jane Seymour, Timothy Mallad, Michael DeStefano, Veronica Ford Wong, Julie Gallo Vander Wall, Richard Gold, and the Foundation's new Executive Director, Trena Pitchford.

The Foundation has provided more than $1,000,000.00 in its grant making history. Thanks to an incredible pool of donors, partners, and volunteers, each year the Foundation has invested grants to support emerging charities that benefit children, veterans, homelessness, and those affected by various debilitating diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Lupus or ALS.

Launched in 2017, the Young Hearts Volunteerism program organizes one day service projects where time, talent, and resources of people who serve with an open heart support charitable organizations that inspire and empower their community. In 2020, the Young Hearts Volunteerism program has innovated – creating an exciting new way for the next generation to volunteer their time and talents, benefit the needs of dynamic nonprofits, and accelerate purpose through the design and creation of a mobile app.

The Open Hearts Foundation’s mission is inspired by Jane Seymour’s mother, Mieke Frankenberg, who always told Jane that in times of great challenge, accept what is happening, and look to see what you can do to help others.
