After three years we made a deliberate, strategic, move into the software as a service space. This decision was, in hindsight, a profoundly inspired one as the sustainable, residual revenue stream that accompanied this move allowed us to escape the crippling cash flow drought that has seriously depleted others over the past few years.
Apart from the obvious commercial benefits of changing our business model, we also recognized a gap in the market that’s yet to be optimally met (even today) whereby small to medium businesses gain access to fundamental business tools that help them compete online. Our competitive focus, which sets us apart from many of the players in the SaaS space, is our drive to create an “ecosystem” that facilitates business growth, purely through the Internet.
With our primary target market being small businesses we’ve found that the “pay as you go” subscription based model makes perfect sense and is a very attractive proposition requiring only a small investment and minimized risk for the business owner for an enterprise grade technology.
