Background Experience

Marguerite started her consulting business,  Padovani Public Relations in 2000.  She managed a variety of high tech accounts in the Internet security, business-to-business enterprise, and search technology sectors that included BEA Systems, Qualys Inc., Excite! and others.

Marguerite possesses more than 25 years experience in public relations, marketing, social media, and marketing communications, including the orchestration of trade show programs, conferences and events. Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Padovani Communications, she held a variety of communications management positions with leading Internet and software firms. Most recently, she was Director of Corporate Communications for CyberSource where she played a key role in creating high visibility in preparation for CyberSource’s IPO, as well as for the IPO of its sister company, Beyond.com (formerly software.net).

Prior to CyberSource, Marguerite was Director of Corporate Communications for Verity, Inc., where she elevated the company’s image to that of a market leader in search and retrieval through the extensive “Verity Everywhere” media campaign. She also orchestrated the communications around Verity’s high-profile entry into the “push” market, including integrating the communications efforts of three technology company acquisitions.

In the late-80s to the mid-90s, Marguerite held a variety of public relations management positions at Borland International. Along with managing the company’s extensive international public relations activities, she was in charge of developing and implementing the programs that communicated Borland’s corporate and product strategies to the industry analyst community. Marguerite also managed highly successful public relations programs for Borland’s flagship database and spreadsheet products.
Marguerite began her career as an account executive at the Silicon Valley office of Hill & Knowlton, one of the world’s largest PR agencies.
