Rosa Maria "Rosy" Palomino is a veteran educator and small business owner. She was one of the 2015 candidates for City of Miami District 2 Commissioner. She was also the 2018 and 2016 Republican candidate for State Representative District 112 which includes most of City of Miami District 2.
She is the president of Tropical Nostalgia Inc. which offers Miami After Dark wines, luxury gifting and locally-branded confections. She has been teaching at Citrus Grove Elementary School for over 22 years receiving numerous accolades for her success in the classroom and in creating community partnerships.
She is also the President of the Douglas Park Neighborhood Association representing 500+ homes and condos surrounding 10-acre Douglas Park that was recently remediated and continues to wait for its children’s playground to reopen after 6 years.
Lastly, she became an environmentalist after surviving a deadly algae infection she contracted after swimming in Biscayne Bay. She lost a twin pregnancy as a result.
