About

Payal Jain’s work is rooted in the idea that clothing can carry both memory and meaning. Each silhouette emerges from a dialogue between traditional Indian textiles and contemporary design, where fabrics, structure, and craftsmanship come together with intention.

At the atelier, the process begins with material handloom fabrics, natural fibres, and techniques such as chikankari developed in collaboration with master craftspeople across India. These elements are not treated as surface detail but as part of how the garment is constructed, allowing heritage skills to shape the final form.

The collections span couture, prêt, and occasion wear, created with an understanding of movement, setting, and wearability. Rather than excess, the focus remains on balance—where structure supports fluidity and each detail serves a purpose.

Sustainability is approached through material choice, process, and environment, with an emphasis on low-waste production, natural dyes, and responsible craftsmanship. The result is clothing that reflects both cultural continuity and a modern design perspective, grounded in restraint and longevity.
