About

Peace River Refuge & Ranch is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) wild animal sanctuary in Florida. The sanctuary is fully licensed and accredited by the American Sanctuary Association (ASA) and Member Society of the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). We are fully licensed by the State of Florida, USDA, US Fish & Wildlife.

The sanctuary is dedicated to the lifetime care of abused, neglected, confiscated or unwanted wild animals to prevent them from being destroyed. The animals that we rescue range from big cats such as tigers, cougars and leopards to wolves, bears, primates, small wild cats and more.

As a true sanctuary, we do not buy, sell, breed or take the animals off site for exhibit. We are not open to the general public like a zoo, as we are dedicated to providing a peaceful home for the animals.

Our sanctuary offers guided, educational tours twice a month by advance reservation only. Visitors have the unique opportunity to come as close as five feet away from animals that many people will never see up close again in their lives. All the while, people are learning about the animals, why they are here and the plight of their wild counterparts and how we can all help to reduce human-wildlife conflicts.
