PIPLERS of POOLE
There has been a 'Piplers' in Poole since 1866, established at the existing address at that time by the Pipler family, who still own the building. The chandlery business has changed hands only twice since then. It continues to provide every possible requirement for the boating enthusiast.
The shops are located on the Quay nearest the lifting bridge end, near to the Customs House. There is free restricted parking outside one off the buildings, loading bays outside both and 'Pay & Display' parking nearby. A public visitors marina, Poole Yacht Haven is about 300 metres away, yachts are still able to raft up alongside the quay if they wish, using the marina facilities if they so require. The quay and surrounding area has an excellent range of Pubs and Restaurants to suite all tastes. The town centre is within easy walking distance with a full range of shops and a supermarket.
'Piplers of Poole' offer a full range of chandlery, paints, rope, safety equipment, inflatable boats, liferafts, foul weather and sailing clothing and footwear, an extensive range of nautical books and charts, VHF radios, GPS navigators, nautical gifts, etc. Open 7 days a week, they are an Admiralty chart agent. A rigging service is also offered. Mail order and online sales from their website www.piplers.co.uk offers over 6000 products, with the shop stocking upwards of 10,000 items.
All the staff at Piplers are boating enthusiasts and active sailors, two members being RYA Yachtmasters, with an extensive experience of the sea and seafaring. Expert advice is always on hand to visitors to the shop or telephone callers.
'Value for money, customer satisfaction and personal and expert service are our objectives', says John Gardner, Managing Director.
