About

Profitable on Purpose is a business education and conference platform for established women business owners who want to build businesses that produce stronger profits, better decisions and greater value for the owner.

Founded by business strategist and educator Pam Ivey, Profitable on Purpose challenges a common approach to entrepreneurship: treating revenue growth as the primary measure of business success.

Revenue tells you how much money came into a business. It does not tell you how much the owner kept, whether the pricing works, whether margins support growth, whether operations are financially sustainable, or whether increasing sales is creating a stronger business.

Profitable on Purpose brings those conversations to the forefront.

Its education focuses on the business decisions that have a direct impact on profitability, including pricing, margins, financial performance, operations, capacity, priorities, strategic growth and the relationship between revenue and profit.

Ivey brings more than 25 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and small businesses to the platform. Her work focuses on helping business owners step outside the day-to-day demands of running their companies long enough to examine what the business is producing, where profit is being lost and which decisions deserve their attention.

The flagship Profitable on Purpose Conference is a one-day working conference created specifically for established women business owners. Rather than spending a day listening to presentations and returning home with pages of notes, participants apply the ideas to their own businesses throughout the day.

Sessions address profitability, pricing, financial decision-making, business priorities and implementation. The conference concludes with dedicated implementation time so participants leave with decisions made and a practical 90-day plan for their businesses.

The 2026 Profitable on Purpose Conference takes place Friday, October 23, 2026, at Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion in Greater Victoria, British Columbia. The event will bring together approximately 100 women business owners from across Vancouver Island and British Columbia.

The Scotiabank Women Initiative is the Presenting Partner for the 2026 conference, alongside business and community partners supporting women’s entrepreneurship and business growth.

Profitable on Purpose also contributes to broader conversations about how entrepreneurs measure business success, including the role of profit versus revenue, the impact of pricing on financial performance, and why selling more does not necessarily result in a more profitable business.
