About

Prosig provides turnkey data capture and analysis systems for a wide range of applications with particular focus on NVH and acoustical testing  for the automotive, aerospace and power generation Industries. The company designs and develops its own products and its engineers have decades of experience in solving real-world noise and vibration problems for major organizations throughout the world.

Prosig's product range is divided broadly into two areas: general purpose, flexible data acquisition and analysis systems (P8000 & DATS) or custom condition monitoring systems (PROTOR).

The P8000 capture hardware and DATS analysis software focuses on the capture of noise & vibration and associated data for mobile and laboratory applications. The P8000 series features a range of 24-bit measurement hardware. These systems can be configured with between 4 and 1024 channels and have signal conditioning options for accelerometers, microphones, strain gauges, thermocouples and powered transducers. Additional options also offer support for capture of data from CAN-bus, GPS and IRIG inputs. The DATS software package has over 35 years of development behind it and integrates capture from the P8000 systems with analysis and reporting capabilities. DATS also offers a wide range of data import and export from other measurement and analysis systems.

Prosig PROTOR systems are sophisticated condition monitoring systems for large scale rotating machinery, primarily in the power generation industry. The systems provide reliable, online, 24/7 condition monitoring of turbine generator, main boiler feed pumps and other auxiliary plant equipment. In addition to over 30 power stations worldwide, PROTOR is in use in steel mills, paper mills and monitoring other large scale machinery. The PROTOR-mobile system is a smaller, portable version of the PROTOR system and can be used for short term studies or in problem solving situations.

Prosig was established in 1977 by members of ISVR (Institute of Sound & Vibration Research) at Southampton University. The company's goal is to provide customers with the best available hardware and software for noise and vibration measurement. The existing UK headquarters, in Fareham UK, were completed in 1982 and Prosig USA, Inc. was founded in 1986. In 2001 an engineering center was opened in Detroit to provide high quality support to customers in the area. Prosig maintains a network of agents to support business in Europe, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and South America.

The company remains focused on producing reliable, high quality, integrated measurement solutions that allow their customers to achieve best practice and use the latest tools available to the test engineer.
