About |
Razteria creates eclectic multilingual pop music with vocals reminiscent of HER and Sade, electronic elements of Grymes, grooves of Steel Pulse and latin vibe of Natty Peluso. She is also a producer-engineer, and collaborates with artists and musicians from the SF Bay Area and around the world. Razteria uses music to describe the spectrum of profound emotions and experiences we have in life, hence the diversity in styles and soundscapes that you will hear in her catalog of independent music dating back to 2005.
Razteria’s first full length Spanish language album Tocar las Estrellas (03/20/2023) was coproduced and cowritten by Bay Area musician producer Dave Shul. Tocar las Estrellas was produced over the span of 2022 at Dave Shul’s studio in San Francisco and Razteria’s home studio in El Sobrante. Razteria started working with Dave in 2021 and he encouraged her to focus on writing music in Spanish. Dave has been producing music in the SF Bay Area for over 35 years including with Cornell CC Carter, Luis Enrique, Jason Becker amongst others and most recently recorded with Jim Keltner, Steve Paccaro, Jason Wall, Lawrence Juber, Eva Gardner (bass, Pink) and Julian Lennon. The album includes drum performances from veteran drummers Ronnie Smith (Maria Muldar, The Sons of the Soul Revivers, Alabama Mike), Jay Lane (Bob Weir, RatDog, Primus, The Uptones and more), Alcide Marshall (son of Eddie Marshall) and Roberto Quintana (percussion). Tracks “Ambicioso”, “Aprovecha” and “Mientras” were co-written by Venezuelan-Colombian poet Orlando Muñoz Garcia.
Space to play, Razteria’s 2021 album, a 16 track bilingual multigenre record includes, No veo nada and No veo nada Dub, a reggae track featuring words and the voice of blind Peruvian poet Zezé Fassmor. Razteria has an ongoing Gofund me campaign to raise money to purchase equipment for Zezé to start a home studio. Each song on Space to play has a story and meaning behind it (read more here).
