Recycling Lives is an award winning commercial recycler and social welfare charity that provides a unique solution to the growing national problem of worklessness, homelessness and welfare dependency.
A 2010 winner of the Queen's Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, Recycling Lives has also been widely recognised as a recycling and waste management sector leader for more than 40 years, taking into account the economic, social and environmental impacts of its business operations on the wider community.
The commercial arm of the company provides complete waste management and recycling solutions including scrap metal, WEEE, and CRT equipment. Recycling Lives also maintains a dedicated Carbon Reduction Department, helping businesses and homeowners reduce their carbon emissions.
The Recycling Lives Training Department, in addition to undertaking all staff training, works with local colleges and social enterprises to provide a wide range of academic and vocational courses to the local community.
The charity arm of Recycling Lives is dedicated to helping individuals facing an uncertain future- such as the workless, homeless and welfare dependent- to turn their lives around through accomodation, education, training and work experience.
So far, 100% of the individuals who have completed the Recycling Lives programme have gone on to full-time employment and independent living.
Recycling Lives is poised to embark on a regional and national expansion programme, with 50 of the innovative Recycling Lives Centres set to be built in the UK, 10 of them in the Northwest.
