About

In 1987, after acquiring a small lot in Gig Harbor, Gordon Rush built and sold his first custom home. Finding quick success and developing a strong reputation for meticulously detailed construction, he opened a small office to support construction and acquisition. In 1994, Rush delivered its first commercial office building. Since then, the company has expanded not only its capabilities, but it’s geographic footprint, working in markets like Seattle and Portland. Matt Smith, current President, took over day-to-day operations in 2011, with Gordon remaining an active influence for Rush-owned developments.

The Rush Companies today barely resembles the small one-man shop from 1987, but maintains dedication to the foundation of integrity and resourcefulness that it was built upon. With six distinct divisions that source, construct, and manage communities throughout the Puget Sound Region - Development, Capital, Design, Commercial, Residential, and Property Management - this vertically integrated real estate organization has set it’s sights on strategic growth down the Pacific coast in the years to come.

Rush Development’s regional presence, full-service capabilities, and financial strength make it one of the premier developers in the Greater Puget Sound Region, offering a broad array of client-driven commercial real estate services. Their clients seek them for creative solutions to deal-breaking problems, and Rush Development delivers with a full range of development services.

The largest of The Rush Companies, Rush Commercial specializes in multifamily, mixed-use, medical, and commercial office,  projects. Rush began moving toward the multifamily market with the acquisition of the 270-unit treetops homes in Silverdale. Shortly thereafter, Rush Commercial built their
first large-scale multifamily unit, The Pacifica, located across from the Tacoma Mall. In 2013, Devin Page joined Rush Commercial as Vice President. Under Devin’s leadership, the company has grown to over 50 employees and increased revenues to a projected $70mm in 2016.

Rush Commercial opened a Seattle office in 2015 and has over 750 multifamily units currently in construction with over a thousand queued for delivery over the next two years. Rush Commercial has completed all of the projects for Rush Development as well.
