Dr. Stephanie Tursic Burns, a partner in the private counseling practice Seneca Counseling & Psychological Services, LLC, was honored in 2012 by the American Counseling Association (ACA) as winner of the Glen Hubele National Graduate Student Award; the National Career Development Association (NCDA) as winner of the Graduate Student Research Grant Award; the Association for Humanistic Counseling (AHC) as winner of the Doctoral Level Emerging Leader Award; and the College of Education, Health, and Human Services (EHHS) at Kent State University’s (KSU) Doctoral Level Graduate Student Research Award.

The ACA’s Glen Hubele National Graduate Student Award recognizes outstanding dissertation research by an ACA student member. Dr. Burns’ dissertation research determined and recommended empirically-based criteria for performing person matching as a psychometric scoring methodology to predict specialty selection for a profession. The Award was presented at ACA’s annual conference in San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Burns is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Michigan and Ohio as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She has presented at local, state, regional, and national counseling association conferences, provided numerous CEU training workshops, and has served on local, state, regional, and national counseling association committees.
