About |
We provide 18 artists with two-month residencies annually to create new work and explore their creative potential in our studio, the former Utica Steam Engine & Boiler Works in Utica, New York: 24-hour access to indoor/outdoor workspace, specialized equipment, technical expertise, housing and transportation stipends. New work is exhibited in museums, parks and galleries worldwide. We host four artists at a time, this intimate scale fosters collaboration, collegiality, ample workspace, neighborhood familiarity and individual attention. We encourage frequent interaction with the community through lectures, socially-engaged interactive projects, school visits, open studios, presentations and exhibits. As active members of the broader community, we participate as an engaged cultural partner and creative placemaker.
