SealsTrust supplies physical anti-counterfeiting labels to product brands in the United States, under two product names: the Security Sticker and the Tattoo Label.

The problem the labels address is that most security printing is flat. Holograms, microtext and two-dimensional codes are features of a surface, and a surface can be photographed and printed again. A code copied onto a counterfeit unit scans exactly like the original, because copying a code is all that copying a code requires.

SealsTrust puts the security into the construction of the label rather than into its artwork. Each label carries a raised relief of roughly two millimetres that is meant to be felt rather than inspected, embedded optical fibers that scatter and react to light instead of sitting on the surface as printed detail, and a passport-style light-reactive layer whose appearance changes as the label moves under a light source. A photograph or a photocopy records all three flat and a printing process cannot put them back, so a reproduction is wrong in the hand before any reader is involved. The check needs no equipment, no app, no connection and no power source.

The second layer is identity at the level of the individual unit. Every label carries its own serialized QR code, and no serial is ever repeated. A standard phone camera reads it with nothing to install. Each scan is recorded with its timestamp, requesting address, coarse location and device type, and the person scanning is forwarded to the brand's own product page.

That record is where copies expose themselves. Because a serial belongs to exactly one physical object, a serial read repeatedly in circumstances a single object could not produce, or read in two distant places too close together in time, or surfacing in a territory the product was never distributed into, is visible across the record even though nothing is visible on any individual label.

SealsTrust labels are in production and have been supplied to brands in the United States. The company does not name its customers publicly.

SealsTrust states one limit plainly: a scan returns no verdict. There is no result screen and no check mark. The physical layer is judged by a person, by eye and by touch, and the scan record is read by whoever reviews it. The label and the record are evidence; the judgment stays with people.
