About

The Seattle Gaels' mission is to bring the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, and Gaelic football to men, women, and youth in the Pacific Northwest. Hurling, and its female counterpart camogie, is played with a long stick and a small ball, and in action looks like a cross between field hockey and lacrosse; it has been played continuously in Ireland for over 800 years. Gaelic football compares to soccer and Australian rules football, and shares its structure for possessions, scoring, and fouls with hurling/camogie. The Seattle Gaels were founded in 1979 and are a proud part of the Irish Heritage Club of Seattle.
