About

September Song Community Theatre has organized and performed a Broadway musical for the past 35 years. The brainchild of schoolteachers Arnie Hayes, and Robert "Doc" Kersey, profits earned by these productions have been given to local charities to the tune of more than $300,000 over that span. Current beneficiaries of this annual effort are CHANGE, Inc. and the Carroll County Therapeutic Recreation Council: organizations that provides services to citizens with developmental disabilities. Virtually every major musical from "Showboat," to "Anything Goes," to"42nd Street," to "Oklahoma," and “Annie," has been undertaken. This year, September Song is presenting “The Sound of Music” and will involve more than 40 performers with another 30 or more volunteers handling the backstage and off-stage duties that are critical to the success of any show.

Our group has helped enrich the lives of Carroll County citizens with developmental disabilities for over three decades and we still remain to be one of Central Maryland’s best kept secrets in community theatre entertainment.
