About

Original scores are great, sure, but Boombox Serenade takes the position that the most memorable film-music moments belong to music that has had a life and a context outside of movies. This blog (which takes its name from the "In Your Eyes" moment in Cameron Crowe's 1989 film Say Anything) is dedicated to such moments and the soundtracks that make them possible, with special emphasis on filmmakers using music by emerging and undiscovered artists.

In addition, Boombox Serenade is dedicated to helping new filmmakers understand the practical ins-and-outs of crafting great soundtracks on any size budget. In February of 2008, the blog made its music licensing guide, How to License Music: An Easy Step-by-Step Guide, available as a free download.
