Spectrum Designs Foundation is a 501(c)(3) social-enterprise based in Port Washington, New York, committed to creating meaningful, inclusive employment opportunities for adults on the autism spectrum.
Operating a full-service custom apparel and promotional products business, Spectrum merges high-quality production with a clear purpose: every order helps empower neurodiverse individuals through paid work, skill development, and community inclusion.
Founded in 2011 by Patrick Bardsley, Nicole Sugrue, and Stella Spanakos (in collaboration with The Nicholas Center), the organization began with just a handful of participants and one heat-press in a backyard barn.
Since then, the enterprise has expanded to multiple locations (including a facility in Pleasantville, NY), broadened its service offerings (screen printing, embroidery, DTG, graphics, promotional goods), and grown its impact across the region.
Spectrum maintains a high standard of operational excellence, blending the rigor of a competitive business with the values of a mission-driven nonprofit.
With a strong track record (including a Platinum Transparency rating on Charity Navigator) and leadership that continues to push boundaries in neurodiverse employment, Spectrum Designs Foundation stands at the intersection of social mission and market‐driven success.
