About

SPIO™ (Stabilizing Pressure Input Orthosis) is a dynamic compression system made of patented, breathable, Lycra-blend material with a multi-directional stretch and high rebound factor. SPIO™ assists with stability and provides feedback through deep pressure and tactile stimulation. The unique compression ratios and design improve functional movement; limb and body position awareness; and general stability and balance.

SPIO™ was developed in the early nineties by two moms of children with special needs; one a physical therapist and licensed orthotist, the other an accomplished seamstress. Working in collaboration to solve issues they were facing with their own children, they developed a unique line of compression systems that have been beneficial for thousands of individuals from around the globe.

Today, SPIO™ is part of a family of non-profits called Dynamic Partners. Members of the Dynamic consortium include Children's Therapy Center, South King Early Intervention Program (SKIP), Dynamic Orthotic Systems and SPIO™. These organizations work together to ensure children with special needs and their families are able to get the services and products they need to reach their full potential. All profits made through the sales of SPIO™ are used to help achieve this mission.

SPIO has been used to treat Autism, Sensory Processing Dysfunction Disorder (SPD), Truncal Hypotonia, Angelman Syndrome, Asperger’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Chromosome Disorder, Down Syndrome, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Fragile X, Hypotonia, Muscular Dystrophy, PDD, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Rett syndrome, Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, Developmental Delay, Hemiplegia, NCL, SI, NOS, Smith Magenis Syndrome
