About

Strategic Leadership Development International (SLDI) uses its trademarked LeaderPerfect Solutions to provide comprehensive business and leadership development services for companies of all sizes, from small start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations.

Started in 2001, SLDI was founded by Dr. Mike Armour, a veteran executive coach and leadership development specialist. A lifelong leader himself, Dr. Armour has served as a Navy captain, a college president, a university dean, the CIO of a nationwide intelligence command, the CEO of an international humanitarian organization, and a key executives in a variety of faith-based non-profit organizations.

Drawing on this experience, he helps SLDI design custom leadership coaching, training, and team-building programs  for each client. These programs are then delivered personally by Dr. Armour or by members of the SLDI LeaderPerfect Network.

This Network is made up of veteran coaches and leadership development specialists, most of them with decades of corporate leadership experience.  The Network includes coaches and trainers all across the U.S., as well as in Asia, Africa, and Europe.

With this Network, SLDI functions much like a virtual corporation and can quickly and economically put together custom-tailored teams for the needs of specific clients. Because of its cost-effective structure as a virtual corporation, SLDI is able to provide big-firm quality without the big-firm price.

Some of SLDI's recent clients include Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, MorganStanley, Experian, Raytheon, Bell Helicopter, Microsoft, McAfee Software, American-Standard/Trane, Nortel, Frito-Lay, 7-Eleven, UBS Wealth Management, InfoVision, and many others.

In 2013 Dr. Armour launched an affiliated company called Startups After 50. It is a web-based platform (www.StartupsAfter50.com) to provide tutorials, guidance, and resources for so-called "encore entrepreneurs," men and women who arebeginning their first business in their 50s or 60x.

In addition SLDI has an international initiative called Leadership Development Africa. Designed in concert with Leadership Training Associates International of Nairobi, Kenya, this program delivers high-quality training for business and government leaders across Africa. The first trainings in Kenya and Rwanda  took place in 2011, and trainings have recently expanded to Nigeria. Opportunities in other African countries are under development.
