Subway Sessions was created by three friends – Thomas McAulay, Sam Spar and Matt Pelosi – while living in New York. The purpose was to share their love of music with New York City and the rest of the world.
In today’s culture of overproduction, auto-tuning, and a nearly impenetrable studio system, music can easily lose its soul before it reaches the listener. The goal of Subway Sessions is to showcase artists performing outside of these conventions – relying solely on talent and musicality.
Inspired by the raw performances of New York City buskers, Thomas, Sam and Matt set out on a mission to showcase musicians doing what they do best, away from what is perhaps their usual environment. The concept is simple: No studios, no editing – just music.
