SUN pain Institute is a medical startup in Savannah, Georgia is poised to address this national health crisis. Their mission is to continuously improve practices by offering a higher-quality, multimodal approach to assessment, treatment and pain care than is currently available. They intend to set the standard for HICP treatment.

A pair of entrepreneurs, Dr. John George and Dr. Doris Cope share a passion for people and pain relief. Both of them are have over thirty years of experience and a common beginning at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. George is also the founder of Optim Orthopedics. Dr. George is well known in the Savannah area for his over 30 years of practice and dedication to orthopedic care. Like Dr. George, Dr. Cope also attended the Medical College of Georgia. She has most recently treated patients in Annapolis, MD, in the largest pain clinic practice in the state. In addition, she directed the largest pain fellowship training in the country.
Dr. Cope is new to the Savannah medical community and her ideal of patient care aligns with the SUN Pain Institute (SPI) mission. As an Anesthesiologist, Dr. Cope is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the field of pain treatment. SPI fills a much-needed void addressing symptoms associated with cervical, lumbar, and pelvic pain for both men and women. In addition, they treat neuropathic, visceral and cancer pain, and complex reflex sympathetically medicated pain. Dr. Cope claims she treats the pain that other doctors don’t typically treat.
