Sust-it is an independent energy efficiency comparison site for electricals which shows the running costs and CO2 emissions of over 7,000 household electrical products, from TV’s to tumble dryers. Using the manufactured published data, sust-it shows consumers the variation in energy and water consumption across products - before they buy - so that they can make informed choices; saving money and helping the environment.
Sust-it was set up in 2007 by Ross and Issi Lammas after they became frustrated at the lack of available environmental information for the appliances they were sourcing for the eco-house they had built. Energy information was available for ‘white goods’, but not for TV’s for which the difference can be staggering, choose the most energy hungry and it could cost you nearly £100 more than the most energy efficient model.
