About

Let's go back in time and find out what happen to the Knights Templar; officially endorsed by the Roman Catholic Church in 1129. The Templars, the most elite fighting force of their day, highly trained, well-equipped and highly motivated; one of the tenets of their religious order was that they were forbidden from retreating in battle, unless outnumbered three to one, and even then only by order of their commander, or if the Templar flag went down. In 1139, when Pope Innocent II's papal bull Omne Datum Optimum exempted the Order from obedience to local laws. This ruling meant that the Templars could pass freely through all borders, were not required to pay any taxes, and were exempt from all authority except that of the pope. Templars were in charge of defending religion and allegiance to the Pope ; they became one of the most dominating armies of the day and feared by many rulers, leaders and kings.
