Healthcare Team Training

HTT was formed in 2004 in response to a need for implementing team-based patient safety practices, processes and improvements in healthcare. In the 1999 report, To Err is Human, the Institute for Medicine recommended that “…healthcare teams adopt safe practices analogous to crew resource management from the aviation industry to reduce medical errors.” HTT has adopted TeamSTEPPS®, Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety, as its primary approach and methodology for improving medical teamwork performance in both civilian and government healthcare organizations.
