About

The VERB Kind (TVK) is a mentoring movement dedicated to restoring purpose, hope, and belief in incarcerated youth. The organization operates in juvenile detention centers across Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee, reaching young people who need consistent care, guidance, and encouragement. TVK believes that lasting change begins with relationship and that every person deserves a second chance.

The organization’s name reflects its mission: Victory Every Day • Restoring Belief. The VERB Kind helps youth rediscover their value through intentional mentorship, character development, and community connection. The heart of its mission is simple—kindness is a verb. It must be lived, not just spoken.

Our Work

Mentoring Behind Walls:
TVK trains and equips caring adults to mentor youth inside juvenile detention facilities. Each mentor provides consistency, accountability, and unconditional support. These relationships become a source of stability and encouragement that many young people have never experienced before.

Healing and Restoration:
The VERB Kind focuses on healing the whole person. Mentors help youth rebuild confidence, develop emotional awareness, and strengthen their belief in themselves. Growth is encouraged through honest conversation, active listening, and compassion. Freedom begins with the renewal of the mind and heart.

Community and Resource Connection:
TVK partners with schools, community leaders, and service organizations to provide educational and emotional support. These connections ensure that youth have opportunities for success when they leave detention. Each partnership reinforces TVK’s goal of helping participants reenter society with purpose and stability.

Impact

The VERB Kind currently serves youth in 19 facilities across Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee. The organization’s growing network of more than 350 trained volunteers demonstrates the power of collective compassion. Mentors, staff, and community partners share a unified belief that every life has meaning and that transformation is always possible.

Through its storytelling, outreach programs, and TVK Magazine, the organization highlights stories of resilience and redemption. These stories show that every person, regardless of past mistakes, has the ability to rise, rebuild, and lead with kindness.

Our Values

Redemption: Every life holds value, no matter where it begins.

Consistency: Showing up builds trust, and trust builds change.

Kindness in Action: Words matter less than the actions that back them.

Transformation: True growth happens in heart, mind, and community.

Belief: Every young person deserves to be seen for their potential, not their past.

Why It Matters

Many youth in the juvenile justice system experience isolation and hopelessness. The VERB Kind addresses these challenges by offering consistent presence, empathy, and mentorship. Through these efforts, the organization helps young people replace despair with direction and regret with belief in a better future.

TVK’s approach focuses on transformation from the inside out. The goal is not only to reduce recidivism but to help youth rediscover their sense of worth and purpose. With each relationship, the organization plants seeds of hope that grow into lasting change.

Join the Movement

The VERB Kind invites individuals, families, and organizations to participate in its mission. Volunteers can mentor, donate, or partner with TVK to expand the reach of its programs. Each act of kindness contributes to the larger goal of building communities founded on compassion, respect, and belief in second chances.
