In the past few years our group started a keyhole garden initiative which has blossomed and is now fully run by the local people. The garden project still exists, however we branched off to focus more attention on the water issues in rural areas like Kageyo. We have befriended a Christian organization, called “Water For All International”, who invented a simple well digging solution that has worked over 4,000 times in 20 plus countries, including the neighboring Uganda. They have offered to train us in the technique as we believe this to be a viable solution for Kageyo. Our hope is that just as the keyhole garden project spread across the community, so will access to clean water through the Amazi project.
