About

The Arc Maryland works to create a world where children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have and enjoy equal rights and opportunities.

The Arc Maryland is the oldest and largest statewide advocacy organization advocating on behalf of and with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Maryland.  We number approximately 7,000 members throughout Maryland including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, parents and family members, educators, professionals, and interested persons from the general public.

The Arc Maryland is an integral part of a nationwide, non-profit, voluntary movement boasting over 160,000 members and 1,300 state and local chapters across the nation.

Our advocacy includes educating individuals on their rights, empowering individuals and families to exercise their rights, and connecting individuals and families to a vast network of supports through local Chapter of The Arc.
