About

Hey there dog mamas & papas! Welcome to The Peppy Pup, where we believe that keeping your pup's brain busy is the key to a happy, tail-wagging life. And trust me, I know this firsthand—because it all started with my dog, Spirit.

Spirit, my 12-year-old Labrador (you'll see him showing off on our page), was the real inspiration behind our flagship product The Busy Blanket. He used to lose his mind—barking like crazy every time I so much as grabbed my keys. He had serious separation anxiety, and I was at my wit's end.

So one day, I tried hiding treats in an old, crumpled up sheet, hoping it'd distract him long enough for me to slip out the door. And guess what?

It worked!

Spirit went from barking to happily sniffing his way through the blanket, hunting for treats, and engaging those natural foraging instincts. And by the way, sniffing? It's the most underrated dog activity.  The science coming out about how sniffing and foraging calm dogs down is incredible—just saying.

But, of course, Spirit's a smart cookie and quickly mastered the crumpled sheet trick. So, I started hiding treats around the house... until I ended up hosting some uninvited ant parties. (Yeah, no thanks).

That's when it hit me: What if I sewed pockets on the sheet to make him work harder for his treats? More challenge, more strategy, more fun. So, I grabbed a random sheet (and my mom, because sewing), stitched on a few pockets, and let Spirit have at it.

And cue the hallelujah chorus! Not only did it keep him busy way longer, but he was totally zonked out afterward. And the best part? No more guilt when I had to leave him alone (or, at least a lot less guilt).  Seriously, did I just invent the holy grail of dog toys?

I knew I had to share this with all the dog parents out there. Because, let's be real—we want to give our dogs the best life, but sometimes we've got our own stuff to do, too. So, whether you're off to work, running errands, or just need a little "me" time, I hope The Busy Blanket gives your dog as much joy as it's given mine.
