The Real Doug Lane was brought up in a small Texas town outside the gates of the famed King Ranch. Following graduation in 2000, he joined the Army as a saxophonist in the Army bands. He was stationed in Germany with a 15-month deployment to Baghdad, Iraq in 2003-2004. Following the completion of his service, Lane began serving as a music minister in churches in Michigan and Texas. Between his service as a military musician and experience as a church band leader, Lane has performed in numerous ensembles of varying styles including jazz, dixie, rock, country, and pop.
His song “Faces” was recently selected for the upcoming Operation Encore, Volume 2, a compilation featuring songs written and performed by members of the military and veteran communities. Operation Encore, Volume 2 is due out in November 2016 (visit www.operationencoremusic.com for more details).
