TINY UTOPIA TO DEMO VR RACER, SUPERBIKE TT AT SWSX GAMING EXPO
The Austin-based indie developer Tiny Utopia today announced the simultaneous release of a playable VR DEMO of their just announced sportbike racing game coming to PC and Consoles, while offering real-time play time on their VR test track demo.
The demo, soon available on Oculus Share (https://share.oculusvr.com/) and the games website (http://www.superbikett.com) when played through the Oculus VR headset, puts the player directly inside the role of a Superbike World League racer. The immersion of the demo is complete down to your very own racing garage where you build your livery of bikes and trophies. The demo kicks off both a crowdsourcing campaign on Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/) and a Greenlight campaign on the popular digital downloading site Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/).
Tiny Utopia has developed various titles on mobile platforms, but this is the studios first foray into PC/Console development. " I pretty much coming from console development from when I started making games, night now VR is the new stuff.", says Neal Nellans, CEO of Tiny Utopia Games. " We've released games in various genres, but our racing games continue to be popular for us and gamers.", states Nellans. Tiny Utopia's has seen such interest in other of their racing titles, such as the recently released "World Rally Racing", which continues to creep up the mobile charts and released on Android devices today.
The Oculus Rift is an upcoming virtual reality head-mounted display. It is being developed by Oculus VR, who have raised US$91 million, of which $2.4 million was raised with crowdfunding via Kickstarter.
