About

Transport for All (TfA) is the organisation of disabled and older people dedicated to champion the rights of disabled and older people to travel with freedom and independence in London.

London is one of the wealthiest cities in the world. Yet many transport services remain out of bounds for its disabled and older citizens. Physical barriers like flights of stairs, gaps and obstacles combined with the way transport services are run prevent many of us from getting out and about and living our lives. We want to live, work and enjoy our lives in a capital that is accessible to all. Access to transport is vital in making this happen.

Campaigns:
For 20 years, Transport for All and our incredible disabled and older members have been campaigning and successfully making positive changes. Lastly, in a battle of David V Goliath we took on the Mayor of London and the Department of Transport over the fact that Crossrail was originally planned without full access – despite costing £15billion of public money. After a year and half of lobbying & campaigning – we won! However Crossrail completion will now be delayed but we are still campaigning to ensure that every station will be step free.

Advice Line:
Informing Disabled and older Londoners of their travel options and rights is central to our mission. Our Advice Line takes calls from across London on everything from how to renew a Blue Badge to where to find toilets on the Underground. Run by Disabled people for Disabled and older people we pride ourselves on offering free impartial experience based advice on how things really are and supporting people to enjoy London.

Advocacy Service
We also have highly skilled and specialist advocacy service that is able to take up complaints, appeals and complex transport problems. Successes included helping clients get compensation for poor treatment, improving Bus services by taking up older and disable people’s complaints, and making parts of the NHS restore patient transport services.

Disability Equality Training
We has been providing quality bespoke Disability Equality Training (DET) to the transport sector for more than five years. We brought our expertise in transport accessibility to assist transport providers to enhance the customer care given to Disabled and older customers. Our clients include Transport for London, Uber and Gett.
