Trappola di Venere is a new women’s luxury label started by the Italian designer Sara Romoli. The current centerpieces of the collection are one-of-a-kind fashion corsets but the essence of the line is Italian made garments of the highest quality and materials designed to enhance and celebrate femininity in each phase of a woman’s life.
Historians believe that the scene depicted in Botticelli's Birth of Venus was inspired by the text in an Homeric hymn published in Florence in 1488 by the Greek refugee Demetrios Chalcondyles:
Of august gold-wreathed and beautiful Aphrodite I shall sing to whose domain belong the battlements of all sea-loved Cyprus
where, blown by the moist breathof Zephyros,
she was carried over the waves of the resounding sea on soft foam.
The gold-filleted Horae happily welcomed her
and clothed her with heavenly raiment.
This is the concept behind the new line of Trappola di Venere by Sara Romoli. Like the heavenly raiment that covered Venus and Boticelli’s vision of a beautiful and alluring woman brought to life in the modern day, our collection embraces each woman’s body in European style and sophistication.
Old world Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail ensure that each piece is of the highest quality. We have selected the finest, luxurious materials and Italian fabrics in each style to maintain the spirit and romance of a bygone era. Our goal is to bring out the natural beauty, femininity and inner glamour of every woman.
