Tito, the founder of Uvita surf school start surfing at 11 years old in 1998. Then at the age of 13 his father gave him a custom surfboard  shaped  by the Costa Rican shaper "Tule", from that moment Tito not only get passion for the sport, but also for shaping and fixing his own boards. Later with few money and effort he bought some tools, resin and fiberglass; and local surfers start leading boards for fixing. Then at 15 years he decided to make his first board and start in the world of the surfboards manufacture. Now by the ends of 2004 Tito finished the high school and he decided to study English in the Latina University of Costa Rica and simultaneously to create a surf school and teach his passion…
“I started from scratch! I bought a broken board, I fixed it and then I went to distribute some brochures which I print in the university. Later hotels would know about the new surf school! The funniest thing is that I had just one board and anybody called me for more than one lesson…”
Nowadays Tito has a surf shop where it is possible to look for surf lessons, surf trips, rental, accessories and everything what you need for surfing.
