Known for our focus on customer service and support and for being one of the largest and most respected agricultural machinery and truck dealerships in regional Australia, Vanderfield Pty Ltd has been operating for over 45 years. Our head office is located in Toowoomba on Queensland’s fertile Darling Downs – an area which supports a wide  range of agricultural commodities, including cotton, summer and winter grain crops, horticulture, dairying and beef production.

How the company began
The company was established in 1963 by Gordon Vandersee, initially to design and manufacture front-end loaders, called Dynathrust, trading under the name of Farm Equipment Pty Ltd. Later it was to become a New Holland and Chamberlain dealership,and when Chamberlain and John Deere merged in Australia in 1970, Vanderfield  became the John Deere dealership for the Toowoomba area. In 1993 Vanderfield Toowoomba was appointed as the dealer for the Hino range of light, medium and heavy trucks including their exciting hybrid (electric/diesel) models.

How we’ve grown
From humble beginnings, with skilled leadership, guidance and sound management practises, Vanderfield has become a successful and formidable company. With nine branches in total now situated in key farming and commercial localities, growth has been dynamic. This is reflective of our strong commitment to meeting the needs of our customers with close partnerships and ongoing support.

Family focused
Following Gordon’s retirement in 1991 the legacy of the business was passed on to hissons to continue on with the same ethical values and integrity that Gordon displayed in all his dealings with customers. Bruce, today is the Managing Director of the company,Rob the company's special projects manager, John the IT manager for the group and Ray heads up the Skelta sports car division.

Key products
Vanderfield markets the complete range of John Deere agricultural machinery, plus their home owner and commercial line of lawn and garden equipment. The company was instrumental in being the first to bring cotton pickers into Australia and since 1996 Vanderfield Toowoomba has frequently been acknowledged as the largest individual John Deere dealer in this country.

In 1993 the extensive line-up of Hino trucks was added to our product range. The success of this partnership has lead to Vanderfield being named ‘Dealer of the Year’ several times and receiving numerous parts and service awards.

Vanderfield also markets equipment from other major suppliers. These include Manitou rough terrain materials handling equipment, Honey Bee draper platforms, Simplicity air seeders and tillage equipment, McCormack loader attachments, Auto Farm GPS products, Trioliet feed mixers, Orthman tillage equipment and many more.
