About |
Vic Sethi came to Britain in 1991, following the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq led by Saddam Hussein on the 2nd of August, 1990.
Vic was born in India, but spent all his life in Kuwait. His parents wanted him to grow up in a multi-cultural society and respect every faith.
Vic's birth took place in a private Christian hospital in Delhi called "The Holy Family", where the new borns are delivered by Nun's, this was his father's choice. Born to an Indian/Sikh family, grew up in a Muslim country where he learned to read and write Arabic and educated in a Convent School makes him a true multi-cultural person.
There is a saying that Charity begins at home, its very important to focus on the words "begins at home" and not "ends at home". Once we have taken care of our family, it is time to go out and help others regardless of colour and faith. We are so fortunate to be Humans and belong to one great race called "HUMANITY". Let's start contributing back to the community. We have lived our lives, now it’s time to make this world a peaceful and better place for our children and the generations to come....
Even today in many parts of the world, people of other faiths are not allowed to build their house of Worship or practise thier faith in open, but in UK the government supports and funds the people of every faith to build their house of Worship, Education centres, etc and allows everyone to freely practise their faith.
Vic started to contributing back to the community by funding and contributing his time to sports clubs such as Leicester City Football Club and Leicestershire Cricket County Club and other charitable organisations. He says he is the selected one in the family to carry the Baton of social responsibility, Vic says "One cannot do anything without the backing of his or her family and I am proud to say that my whole family is always with me and have selected me to carry this Baton of Social Responsibility"
Vic supports a lot of Trusts and Charities throughout UK, but also works along with them by contributing his time by sitting on the board of the trusts, organising events and supporting them in various ways.
Vics Philosophy
"I am not a star, I am not an entrepreneur, I am not a hero? I am just an ordinary man, in an ordinary World. Since childhood I have been taught to live a humble life. In this world we have come alone and will go alone, so lets do something good in life which can be remembered by people for years to come after our souls have departed. Death is the truth so let's accept it, as this life which we love the most will one day betray us.
We should stay humble in life, so that we can face people in every walks of life. The best way to do that is to start living for others, sharing with others, helping others, not hurting other's feelings, contributing some of our time and earnings to the needy. We all belong to a great big race called "The HUMAN RACE" and our code of conduct is "HUMANITY".
We all are a part of God's great big family so let us stretch our hands to help other people who need it the most. We should respect the people and the ruling families of the countries we reside in. If it wasn't to them we would not be where we are today. The country we live in gives us our livelihood, so we should respect it's laws and try to be good citizens. I consider myself a true patriotic British Citizen and at the same time I also respect India and Kuwait. If it wasn't to those countries I would not be where I am today. I look upon all the three countries as my Motherland and will respect them for life."
