Board Certified in neurological surgery, Dr. Kareh received certification in the practice of neurosurgery through the American board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). His practice consists of brain and spine surgery including complex spinal problems and brain surgery for tumors. He can also assist patients with pain management and simple vascular lesions.
A graduate of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Kareh did his internship in general surgery at the Puerto Rico Medical Center and his neurological surgery residency at both the Puerto Rico Medical Center and the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.
He completed two rotations in Trigeminal Neuralgia -a disorder of the Trigeminal nerve that presents as severe, intense, sharp, episodic, periodical, excruciating, stabbing and short lasting facial pain and headache. These were done in 1984 at Massachusetts General Hospital under Dr. William Sweet in 1985 at Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
What most people can readily identify with is Dr. Kareh's expertise in minimally invasive reconstructive spine surgery for spine disorders aka those aching back problems.
