Each year, Walton Management Services, Inc. (WMS) identifies tens of millions of dollars in federal and state tax incentives for clients ranging from Fortune 50 corporations to mid size companies.  WMS fills a highly specialized corporate tax niche, providing the program administration, systems processing, and consulting services that companies need to maximize their tax savings.

Our corporate clients represent all industry sectors of varying sizes and are located in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.  Many of our clients have been with us since our inception and can attest to the merits of our services and professionalism.  We achieve the greatest results on behalf of our clients by coupling almost 30 years of program expertise with the use of proprietary, industry-standard software, servers that are maintained by in-house IT specialists, as well as tax specialists with disciplines in tax, finance, economic policy, and auditing.

The federal programs that we administer provide tax incentives to companies who hire individuals with certain characteristics – such as disabilities, veterans status, receive government assistance, and those who live in neighborhoods targeted for revitalization. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program was conceived in its current form by the Small Business Job Protection Act of 1996, Public Law 104-188 to encourage employers to hire targeted groups of job seekers by offering them a federal income tax credit.  The WOTC program can reduce an employer’s federal tax liability by up to $9,000 per new hire.

Our State Tax Incentive Division assists clients save millions of dollars through state specific hiring and non-hiring type credits, including:  training grants, urban enterprise zone tax credits, sales and use tax reductions and recoveries, investment tax credits/expenditures, research and development tax credit analyses, sellable tax credit opportunities; as well as relocation, expansion and consolidation tax incentives.   Our incentive administration service ensures delivery of the incentives identified.

Additionally, WMS offers access to total employer solutions.   Walton’s I-9 Verify Plus™ is an easy method of responding to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act that mandates U.S. employers to verify the employment eligibility status of new hires.  Through  alliance partnership services, WMS  provides solutions to pre-employment screening applicant tracking services, background checks,  unemployment tax saving opportunities, as well as operational cost reduction solutions.
