Facilities
• Museum is comprised of (4) WWII Quonset hut aircraft hangars, comprising about 10,000 sq. ft, and an adjacent Museum Display / Entry Building, with ample parking.
• Hours are 3-4 days a week 10am – 2pm depending on volunteer availability!
• Extensive Collection of WWII to Modern Day flight gear and educational displays
• 4 networked flight simulators teaching aviation “piloting” skills in a video game arcade / on line competitive environment especially appealing to kids.
Aircraft
• All of our aircraft are flyable, former military aircraft:
o 1941 Schweitzer TG-2 (Glider)
o 1943 Boeing Stearman N2S-3 (Primary WWII Trainer aka Yellow Peril)
o 1943 Beechcraft C-45H (Passenger Transport)
o 1946 North American L-17A (Navion Liaison Aircraft)
o 1953 Beechcraft T-34A (Primary Post WWII Trainer)
o 1957 North American T-28C (Advanced Post WWII Carrier Based Trainer).
o 1968 Aero Vodochody L-29C (Soviet Block Primary Jet Trainer)
o Mig21, C-47 and A-6 Intruder Cockpits
Military Vehicles
• We operate 6 Military Vehicles which we take to parades throughout San Diego County,
Aviation Programs
• All of our aircraft (and vehicles) are operational.  We provide living history rides in all the aircraft.
• We attend numerous airshows (public displays) throughout the SW USA
• WWAM coordinates and provides formation fly bys for local parades, Memorial and Veteran’s Day Events and Missing Man Memorial Service Fly Bys for veteran’s families
•  We teach a Private Pilot Ground School program and own and operate an FAA ap proved IFR flight simulator
• Host Wounded Warrior Flying Programs
Youth Programs
• We host school classroom visits to the airport, coordinating their visit to maximize their understanding of the community relationships with the airport (CAL FIRE, Sheriff, News, and Air Ambulance Helos, plus Flight Schools, Corporate Aviation etc.).
• Boy Scout Aviation Merit Badge Program
• Girl Scout Women in Aviation Program
Fund Raising Hangar Events
• Our Museum Hangars are available for rent for birthday parties, weddings, corporate offsite meetings
• We host a $5 monthly pancake breakfast EVERY THIRD SATURDAY
• We host a $25 dinner / dance / guest speaker ANNUALLY the Saturday of the Gillespie Airshow
• We periodically host a car show in conjunction with the Pancake breakfast
• Pizza and a Movie Night – We own every aviation movie made (or at least the available ones!)
• We partner with Fly Boys Aircraft restoration shop next door, for help with restorations on their P-40 Warhawk and now P-51 Restoration Project.
