About

WGMeal.com is an initiative started by Rotarians in 2014 that thanks to its team members and digital marketing has reached more than 80 countries worldwide. Part of the success of this initiative is the simplicity to join and how much fun people have when enjoying a meal with friends and raising money for a good cause, polio eradication.

Polio, a highly infectious disease, causes paralysis and is sometimes fatal.  As there is no cure, the best protection is prevention. It has been proven that with the Polio vaccine, a child can be protected against this crippling disease for life.  Polio could be the first human disease of the 21st century to be eradicated.

Rotary members improve lives and bring positive, lasting change to communities around the world by promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, saving mothers and children, and growing local economies. Rotary’s top priority is the global eradication of Polio. Rotary launched its Polio immunization program, Polio Plus, in 1985 and in 1988 became a leading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. The Global Polio Eradication Initiative is spearheaded by the World Health Organization, Rotary International, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).  It includes the support of governments and other private sector donors.
